Zion’s Melody of Columbus Ohio is a four
member ministry that shares the gospel of Jesus
Christ through song. This ministry was a vision
sent by God to William (Butch) Monroe in April of
1998.
In February of 2001 the group released their first

Edwin Channels Biography
Edwin Channels, the son of Charles and Norma Channels, was born, raised, and born again in East
Cleveland, OH. He accepted Christ in his life at the age of 12 under the direction of Rev. Edward Small
(Starlight BC). Edwin has been singing since age 11. He dedicated his vocal ability to the Lord while
attending Shaw High School.
Edwin Channels obtained a Bachelor of Arts in French from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH.
While attending OSU, Edwin yoked up with his spiritual parents, Bishop H. Eugene and Pastor Joyce K.
Bellinger, at the Cathedral of the Covenant, Columbus, OH where he serves as one of the elders and
worship leaders. It is also during his time at OSU, he accepted his call as a preacher of the Holy Writ.
Edwin is an accomplished vocalist known for his blue notes and “scatabilty”. He is an unsigned artist with
two self-produced CDs: “Live and Not Die” and “How to Live.” He is about to release his latest project,
“Jeremiah 29:11”. He has sung with a number of choirs including the University Mentoring Program Choir,
B.K.A. African American Voices, of The Ohio State University. As a solo artist, he sang at the I Hear Music
in the Air Conference, New Covenant’s Urban Healing Festival, Columbus GospelFest, and Fusion: Gospel
Meets Jazz to name a few events where he has sung.
He has also opened for Tim Bowman, Esther Smith, and Rufus Troutman. Jeremiah 29:11 (For I know the
thoughts I have towards you, sayeth the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected
end.) is his motivational scripture and the central Ohio gospel community could testify that he lives by
Galatians 6:10 (As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who
are of the household of faith.) He loves the Lord and wants to spread the good news of Jesus Christ that
set him free through the songs he sings and the words he speaks.
